“If it ain’t broken don’t fix it” – A perfect excuse to avoid improvements
We know that some of the activities in our manufacturing line are inefficient and cause unnecessary problems but it is difficult for us to make the changes.
Why is that?
A manufacturing line is one of the most business environments. There is never a dull moment…. I am sure that all of us feel the same.
We, the team that manages manufacturingת are busy with so many tasks, some of them are urgent.
Therefore the attention to issues which are not directly related to the day to day activities is very limited.
I admit that it takes a special effort to find the energy to make a progress with “non urgent” tasks.
This anomaly will never be changed unless we decide that enough is enough. We must break the routine to make the necessary improvements.
I booked in my calendar 2 weekly hours marked for improvements activities and I promised to myself that no matter what, these 2 hours will be dedicated to improvements of processes..
These “weekly two hours” time frame is responsible for many important improvements and changes.
